ViuPace is an air-safety investigation docket for underperforming YouTube videos. We read diagnostic telemetry to explain why a video failed and what to adjust. This policy outlines precisely what data we read, why each data point is required, how your data is encrypted, and your right to disconnect and delete your data at any time.

1. Overview & Core Principles
ViuPace (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the ViuPace web platform. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of personal information and YouTube-sourced data when you connect your Google/YouTube account to ViuPace.
By authenticating with Google OAuth and using ViuPace, you acknowledge the terms described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not connect your YouTube channel.
2. What Data We Collect from Your Connected YouTube Channel
When you connect your YouTube account via Google OAuth 2.0, we request read-only permissions (specifically youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly). We ingest only the data points necessary to produce video diagnostic reports:
A. Channel Metadata
Channel ID, channel name, handle, description, creation date, public subscriber count, and avatar/thumbnail URL.
B. Video Metadata & Packaging
Video IDs, titles, descriptions, keyword tags, category, duration, upload date, publication status, thumbnail image URLs, and format classification (long-form video vs. YouTube Shorts).
C. Performance & Audience Retention Metrics
Aggregated view counts, total watch time (minutes), average view duration (AVD), second-by-second relative retention curves, reach metrics (impressions, click-through rates), traffic source categorization (search queries, suggested videos, external sources), and engagement totals (likes, comments count, shares).
D. Video Transcripts & Captions
Timestamped closed captions, automated transcripts, or creator-provided subtitle tracks associated with the analyzed video.
3. Why Each Category Is Collected (Tied to Specific Features)
We do not collect data speculatively. Every category of collected information maps directly to a specific diagnostic capability:

Retention + TranscriptsCross-references relative retention drop-offs with transcript timestamps. Identifies whether an intro failed (evaluated in the first 3–5 seconds for Shorts or 30 seconds for long-form) or where mid-video pacing stalled.

Retention Spikes + TranscriptsIsolates rewatch points and upward retention spikes, aligning them with the exact spoken phrase or demonstration to show what hook or structural element resonated most strongly.
Flop Finder & Asset Rescue Engine
Impressions + CTR + MetadataDistinguishes packaging failures (high impressions with low CTR) from distribution issues. For flagged videos, generates 3 high-curiosity alternative title concepts and thumbnail hooks.
Lacking Report
Channel History ComparisonCompares the underperforming video against your channel's own top-performing video in the same format (Shorts to Shorts, long-form to long-form) to highlight concrete differences in pacing and density.
Discoverability Analysis
Search Query DimensionChecks viewer arrival queries against title, description, and tags to reveal untapped search intent.
4. Data Storage & Security Measures
We treat creator data with rigorous technical and organizational safeguards:
Encrypted OAuth Tokens
OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are stored encrypted using application-level cryptographic ciphers before writing to our database.
Database Encryption (Neon PostgreSQL)
Data is stored in isolated PostgreSQL databases hosted on Neon, protected by TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest.
5. AI Processing & Google Gemini API Disclosure
Explicit Disclosure on Google AI Processing
ViuPace utilizes Google Gemini API (provided by Google LLC) to process selected video telemetry (including retention checkpoints, transcript excerpts, video titles, and description metadata) in order to generate diagnostic findings, pacing assessments, and alternative packaging recommendations.
Because this involves a second Google service processing data obtained from the YouTube API, we explicitly disclose that:
- Limited Use Compliance: Data transferred to the Gemini API is used strictly to provide user-facing diagnostic insights for your channel.
- No AI Training: Your YouTube content, transcripts, and metrics are never used to train, retrain, or improve general AI or foundation models.
- Ephemeral Processing: Transcripts and retention data sent to the AI API are processed in-session to synthesize reports and are not persisted by the AI inference service.
6. User Rights, Disconnecting, and Data Deletion
You have absolute control over your YouTube connection and your data stored in ViuPace:
How to Disconnect Your YouTube Channel
You can disconnect your channel at any time from your ViuPace dashboard settings. Alternatively, you can revoke ViuPace's access immediately via Google's centralized permissions page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
How to Request Account & Data Deletion
When you delete your account or submit a deletion request to support@viupace.com, all associated channel records, video metadata snapshots, retention logs, transcripts, and cached reports are permanently purged from our database within 30 days.

ViuPace partners with a limited set of infrastructure and API providers to deliver the service:

8. Data Retention & Children's Privacy
Data Retention: We retain channel metadata and diagnostic snapshots only as long as your account remains active. If your account is inactive for more than 12 consecutive months or if you request account closure, all stored data is permanently deleted.
Children's Privacy: ViuPace is designed exclusively for content creators and business operators. The service is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will immediately delete such data.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect updates to our analytical features, legal requirements, or Google API policy adjustments. When revisions occur, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide prominent notice within the ViuPace dashboard or via email prior to the changes taking effect.
